Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Spence and his wife Karen came to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church after fifteen years in the ministry. He tried to retire twice and the Lord lead him to various congregations that needed his specific talents and experience.

In February he tried to retire from his previous congregation in Detroit, MI. and was called to do pulpit supply by the then Pastor Ervin Hutter. During this time Pastor Hutter took a call and we asked Pastor Spence to stay as out Vacancy Pastor. He has been with us since 2004

Pastor went to Michigan State University for his undergraduate degree in Animal Industries. He graduated from there in 1972 when he went into the meat industry until 1996.

In 1996 He attended Concordia Lutheran Seminary and graduated in 2000 with a Master of Divinity degree.

His two children Tevia and Lance were already grown, post college and on their own when he was at Seminary.

His wife Karen attended Illinois Benedictine College for her undergraduate degree in Social Sciences. She then attended Concordia University, Chicago were she received her Master Degree with focus on addiction counseling.

Kenneth also corresponded with Kennedy Western a private University of Wyoming  were he also achieved a Master of Business Administration degree.

Were sorry to report that during his tenure at Our Redeemer his loving wife of 50 years passed from this world to her heavenly home.
